There’s nothing that can really prepare you for the changes that are going to hit you through pregnancy.
While it’s an extremely wonderful and exciting time, it can be a lot not only physically, but mentally too and former reality star Holly Nicholson opened up about it in a candid post on Instagram.
She’s currently soaking up an incredible babymoon with husband Jimmy Nicholson through Italy, and while her pictures may look stunning she’s opened up about the reality of how she’s been feeling behind the camera.

Holly posted a snap of herself in a bikini laying in the sun on her Instagram stories, then shared the truth behind the picture in a follow up post.
“Side note: the idea of wearing a bikini a few weeks ago / let alone posting it on social media would’ve given me hives,” she wrote.
“Yes the pregnant body is beautiful and doing incredible things BUT I don’t think people talk about just how bizarre and potentially uncomfortable it is to see your body change so rapidly.
“No woman just gets a bump. I’ve put on weight EVERYWHERE, I’ve grown hair in bizarre places, I’ve welcomed some lovely cellulite and one of my boobs is growing 10x faster than the other (don’t even talk to me about the new shade of nip). It’s wonderful / it’s confronting etc etc you get my gist.”

The post definitely highlights the ‘Instagram versus reality’ that we’ve all felt at least once in our lives, but reinforces that feelings like this can be amplified during pregnancy.
The couple jetted off to Africa first for a safari and have recently travelled around Europe for their luxe babymoon.

At one point after posting sandwiches to her Instagram stories the Luxury Escapes presenter was hit with plenty of DMs telling her why she shouldn’t be eating certain things.
Holly assured her followers that she’s cleared a lot of her travel and diet with her pregnancy care team before going away, but needed to address it due to the messages she had been getting.
Despite the negativity Holly has been posting some gorgeous snaps of her bump, including one cheeky one about the size of her belly.
“At this point I’m not sure what’s actually baby & what’s pasta,” she wrote.
Holly and Jimmy announced the exciting news that they are expecting their first bub in June.
The couple met on The Bachelor Australia in Season 9, which aired in 2021.
They went on to get engaged and tied the knot in August 2023, and are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their little bub.
